Literature Text

what can one do?
when you see
a friend
a complete stranger
tortured
eyes flickering
hands twitching
bashing their heads
trying to get the
voices out.

talking to
no one
crying
listening
trying to find
silence.

the voices
torment them.
relentlessly
waking them
telling them to do
bad things
to kill
to steal
to hurt.

their fights against
the voices
fail.
they try
and try
and
try.

you can’t
look at them
you can’t
touch them
the voices don’t let them
come any closer
to you.

all you can do
is sit
with pity
and shame.
this disease
cannot be cured
with medicine.
voices not silenced
with chemo.

bad thoughts
never
cease.
the hit list
growing.
voices
loudening.
endlessly
suffering.

but what
o what
would one like you
be able to do?
Schizophrenia is such a painful thing to see, I can't even fathom what it would be like to go through it. My heart goes to all mental illness sufferers.

First poem. Please leave some constructive criticism, I'm keen on improving my skills. It would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for viewing.

I like this piece.
I am a fan of repetition, which you
used really well here.

and of course, the content
is very deep and difficult
to deal with. you describe
it well.

keep writing, you have a talent. :]
